If you are interested in taking the class, sign up now....later might be too late.

Operation Write Home - Birthday Bash and PSB Anniversary

Tomorrow is our Operation Write Home get-together at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique. This month is special, we are celebrating OWH's birthday....Happy Birthday to you! I'm thinking winter....odd on a day when the temps will reach 100 degrees. This is my easy card. I've used my Cuttlebug Snowfake embossing folder to emboss both outside and inside, my Spellbinder dies and a cute little snowman stamp from Hero Arts. I've stamped him 10 times, die cut him and sponged around the image. Then, while watching TV...I color him with my Tombow markers.
The inside sentiment is an Annette Allen Watkins stamp, which was embossed with clear embossing powder over a ColorBox-Mini Cranberry Pigment Ink. I'll assemble the cards tomorrow with the girls. Stop by PSB tomorrow and join us in making cards for a really great cause. Karen has tons of supplies that we all can use. You just need to bring adhesive and your lunch if you're spending the day with all of us. The fun begins at 10:00 and ends at 5:00. The good feeling you get lasts forever!
To celebrate Paradise Scrapbook Boutique's 4th Anniversary, I'll be teaching this card during my card class on October 19th. We'll be making 5 cards that day. All cards have been cut, you'll just need to assemble them. What a way to kick start your holiday cards and celebrate a great occasion with Karen and crew! Check out tomorrow's blog for card #5, and previous blogs for cards 1 through 3. Can you tell....I love Cuttlebug embossing folders, Spellbinder dies and Cuttlebug snowflake die and embossing folder. Gotta love the Martha Stewart snowflake border punch
I'm off with friends for a long walk! I just hope it stays a bit cool until we get back. What a dreamer I am....It's already warm!

Card Number 3 - Celebrating Paradise Scrapbook Boutique 4th Anniversary!

I promised 5 easy cards and this one is the absolute easiest. I used my newest Spellbinder die along with two old friends and a wonderful border punch. All items were purchased from Paradise Scrapbook Boutique. The sentiment stamp is one of my favorite oldies, but goodies. I think it is a Stampin Up stamp from many years gone by, but like Silver Stampers and good wine.....this stamp gets better with time! Don't forget....leave a comment on PSB and you are entered into her fantastic Anniversary drawing....

I'm off to walk with my buddy Wendy. We are hoping for 4 miles today. Wendy never gives up, so if she's willing to drag me along....I'll be doing the miles. Tomorrow is Carolyn, Karen and I. Anyone want to join us? Email me and I'll give you the where and whens...

Until tomorrow....and card number 4.....have a wonderful day.

PPA60 Halloween Inspiration Challenge

I've beeen crazy busy this week and when Pals Paper Arts Challenge came through on my email, I wanted to drop everything to play. Then I remembered,I had played and this card was all but ready to mail to my grandson and granddaughter....So, not so very scary, but a fun card to make.

Tomorrow is my card class at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique and before that, Carolyn and I will be walking. I guess I should get moving and get to bed.

Have a great week, catch up with you later.

MoJo Monday 156

Hello, I love the Mojo Monday Challenge. They get the creative juices flowing early in the week and I always hope they continue throughout the remaining week. This was a fun challenge (aren't they all), last night I colored the basket (stamp is from Delafield Stamp Company). As always, I water colored the image using Tombow markers. The sentiment is from Clear Stamps, it's become one of my favorites because it is small and you can change the position of the two words, makes it very versatile. The hummingbird is a button I purchased from a quilt store in Ft. Bragg CA. My quilting buddy took me to the shop and boy....you could go crazy buying buttons there. Not to mention ribbon and fabric....but then for fabric I'd have to sew! The card stock was border punched using one of my Martha Stewart punches and of course the image was die cut using my Spellbinder dies. So that's the how......

I'm off for a day of shopping. Carolyn and I are celebrating our weight loss and the change of the season. So for now....off I go, enjoy your week. Tomorrow is another fun day for me....it's SOS day at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique.

Again....have a most wonderfully creative week!

It's My Day To Play

Today is my day to play and play I shall! I was inspired to make the card on the right, by the Paper Pal Arts color challenge. I liked my little scarecrow so much, I decided to make him again. I'm a proud member of Silver Stampers, a group of folks that enjoy making cards. One of the challenges is to make cards that are flat enough to only need one 44 cent stamp. The card on the right will require extra postage. The card on the left is flat, flat, flat! Yippee! I like it and will be able to afford to send of few of these cards.
It's kind of funny where inspiration comes from. Today I was following a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers and found a great way to use a tool that's been gathering dust for sometime...the crimper. I didn't use the method on this card, but I did try it, and then decided to use the crimper on my scarecrow card. Prior to crimping, I ran the card stock through my Spellbinder die and then I crimped....dimension without adding too much height.... I love buttons, but buttons add postage, so....I made buttons using card stock and my Stampin-Up button die.
Tuesday is our SOS get-together at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique. I'm excited to see all the new things she's brought into the shop over the weekend. Check out Karen's blog page next week, I'm sure you'll be excited to see what's new. My class is a week from Tuesday. There are only 2 spots remaining. If you want to sign up I'd call Karen on Tuesday to let her know.
Off I go, after all, today is my play day, I think I'll make some kits so I'll be ready to be productive on Tuesday. Happy stampin and craftin!

Pals Paper Arts-59

I think Sammy Scarecrow (Stampendous P022) is the cutest little guy. He's been hanging around for awhile waiting to have color added. Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge 59 was the inspiration for this card. The cardstock was in my scrap bin, so I can't tell you where I got them. I love it when I can make something from scraps. I water colored Sammy using Tombow markers and die cut the finished graphic with my Spellbinder Labels 8. I used Dew Drops to embellish .
I'm off to bed....it's been a long day, but a very nice one. I walked with my friends, went to my niece's birthday party, and still had time to make a card....who could ask for more!
Have a wonderful week!

Fort Bragg - The Ocean - Glass Beach

Our end of summer vacation. A short 5 hour drive from our house is heaven for me. Ft. Bragg on the northern coast of California.
My buddy Edy and her dog Skippy did our morning walks, the photo above was taken on one such morning. Living inland, the temperatures when we left home were very, very warm. When we arrived we were met with ocean dampness, fog and very cool mornings.
Sydney and Baxter love the ocean. They love the water, though they can't figure out why it tastes so bad.....Richard has trouble sitting still....I think he was ready to go back to camp....but we weren't, so he patiently waited!
Edy, Dave and Skippy. Skippy liked climbing on the rocks, but couldn't be convinced to go into the water. I met Edy when we both took a calligraphy class. We've been friends ever since.
I am sure God was in a very good mood when she created the oceans. While looking for information on Glass Beach, I found this on YouTube:
The beach we visited is called Glass Beach. Reason.....way, way back in the day, this part of the ocean was a bottle dump. Over the years, the waves and the sand tumbled the glass and when it washed ashore it was transformed to what you now see. Yet another YouTube find. Gotta love YouTube....I sure do. I get loads of craft ideas there.
My favorite 3 photo subjects are of the ocean, flowers and bees. Today, you get the ocean. The picture above was quite an accident. One I didn't see until I downloaded the photos to my computer. This photo was taken using the zoom on my camera. This rock formation is actually quite far away. When I downloaded the photo, I saw two white objects....I enlarged the area and cropped it to find....the sun bathers below:
Aren't they sweet little guys....or girls!
A quiet cove....and now, for my favorite ocean photo.......
A beautiful vacation, spent with great friends, loads of memories and if I ever get my act together, a scrapbook page or two.
Thanks for stopping by to share a bit of my life. I hope to get into my craft room to get started on some cards......have a great week!

Pearls - Pals Paper Arts Challenge-PPA58

I should be spending my time packing the RV for vacation....however, I happened onto the Pals Paper Arts Challenge - Pearls......well, what could I do? I love pearls, flowers and window cards. I taught the second card in my August class at Paradise Scrapbook Boutique. When I teach a class, I try to make more than one card using the same sketch. The first card pictured is the card I made to show yet another flower and pearls. I love the combination of black-white and red. Check out the lovely creations by the Design Team and also all the beautiful creations made by all of us.
It's Weight Watchers this morning......I guess I should get myself ready! Have a great week and Happy Crafting!
